FRANK AND OPEN DIALOGUE
The Power to Persuade symposium started with a simple idea: that the best way to start breaking down barriers between various groups interested in social policy - designing it, delivering it, evaluating it or affected by it - was to bring them into the same room.
Exploring topical, complex issues facing communities, the community sector, public servants and academics, and offering a diverse range of speakers and perspectives, our symposiums encourage and promote frank and open dialogue about current and emerging challenges and opportunities in social policy.

2015 SYMPOSIUM
The Power to Persuade 2015 was held in Canberra at Australian National University on the 17th and 18th of September. The first day focused on discussions around gender and social policy, the second day focused on interrogating the arrival of the private sector into social policy spaces.

2013 SYMPOSIUM
The Power to Persuade 2013 symposium was held on 21 August at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Spring Street, Melbourne. The theme of 2013 symposium built on the previous year, and discussed how to create change in government and policy.
